Mitsubishi brings you the latest in superior 4WD technology. All Pajero models are equipped with Mitsubishi’s rally proven MATT™ (Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology). This sophisticated MATT™ package, derived from technology tested in the brutal Dakar rally operates using numerous intelligent sensors constantly monitoring your vehicle’s wheel speeds, lateral and longitudinal g-forces and yaw rates. The on-board computer then processes this data and matches it to driver intentions via steering wheel and throttle sensors to provide optimum driving performance.

ACTIVE STABILITY CONTROL (ASC)

ELECTRONIC BRAKEfORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD)

Stopping distances are reduced as EBD detects when you are carrying passengers or heavier loads and automatically increases rear-braking force.

STOPPING DISTANCE WITHOUT EBD MULTI-MODE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SySTEM (ABS)

Make driving on slippery roads safer. Pajero’s intelligent 4-channel, 4-sensor braking system monitors different wheel speeds and activates brakes to individual wheels when required to deliver superior control. This allows you to manoeuvre around objects under heavy braking conditions

ACTIVE TRACTION CONTROL (ATC)

Maintain traction on the most slippery or rugged of surfaces with Active Traction Control. This intelligent system automatically controls the engine output so driving wheels are prevented from spinning. Sensing loss of traction in an independent wheel, it applies braking force to that wheel and sends extra power and torque to other wheels with traction to keep you moving.

ENGINE BRAKE ASSIST CONTROL (EBAC)

You’ll have superior control when stepping down steep descents with the incorporation of Engine Brake Assist Control (EBAC), because you won’t be losing engine braking and traction due to slipping wheels. This system works automatically when descending steep slopes in 4LLc mode.

&INDEPENDENT MULTI-LINK REAR SUSPENSION

For superior handling, Pajero boasts independent multilinks with coil springs combined with increased suspension travel and track. The result is maximum tread contact on rough terrain. The independent layout also reduces understeer and improves cornering stability to enhance ride comfort both on and off the road.;

SUPER SELECT 4WD II

Super Select II lets you have full-time 4WD with selectable 2WD mode – the choice of around town fuel efficiency and off-road traction whenever you want. This unique system allows you to alternate between 4WD and 2WD modes at speeds of up to 100 kilometres per hour on any surface.

REAR DIFF LOCK

Pajero has optional rear diff lock to enhance the MATT™ package. This provides superior traction for heavy duty four wheel driving. With the rear diff locked, both rear wheels receive the same amount of driving force regardless of surface to provide the maximum possible traction in difficult conditions.

VISIBILITY CONCEPT
