MANUFACTURERʼS WARRANTIES
Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (“MMAL”) provides the following warranties in connection with the
new vehicle with which the Manual is supplied and any accessories or equipment manufactured or
supplied by MMAL and included with the vehicle when first sold (other than any items that are expressly
excluded or to which a separate warranty applies) (“Vehicle”). These warranties are subject to the
terms and conditions detailed in this Manual, including the information set out on the page headed
“Explanation of Warranty” and “Owner Responsibility”.
These warranties:
• Do not exclude or limit any warranties implied by any applicable Federal, State or Territory legislation.
• Only applies for the Australian domestic market and not for any overseas markets.
INITIAL WARRANTY
(3 years from purchase or 130,000km)
MMAL warrants that the Vehicle will be free from defects in materials and factory workmanship under
conditions of normal use and service within Australia during the period commencing on the date of the
Vehicle’s original retail delivery or first use (whichever occurs first) and expiring 36 months (3 years)
later, or until the Vehicle has been driven a distance exceeding 130,000 kilometres (whichever occurs
first) (“Initial Warranty”).
The Initial Warranty does not apply to the Vehicle’s battery or tyres, to which separate warranties apply.
EXTENDED WARRANTY
(5 years from purchase or 130,000km)
Provided that:
• the Vehicle has not been driven a distance exceeding 130,000 kilometres;
• the Vehicle has been serviced in accordance with the Service Schedules set out in this Manual at the specified servicing
intervals during the Initial Warranty period ; and
• the owner notifies MMAL of the owner’s intention to qualify for the Extended Warranty by completing the Extended Warranty
Registration Validation section set out in this Manual and presenting the Vehicle with the Service and Warranty Book at an
Authorised Mitsubishi Service Centre at some time during the final 6 months of the Initial Warranty,
MMAL will extend the Initial Warranty for the period commencing upon the expiry of the Initial Warranty and expiring 24 months
(2 years) later, or until the Vehicle has been driven a distance exceeding 130,000 kilometres in total (whichever occurs first)
(“Extended Warranty”). The extended Warranty is subject to the Vehicle continuing to be serviced in accordance with the
Service Schedules set out in this Manual at the specified servicing intervals for the duration of the Extended Warranty.
The Extended Warranty does not apply to accessories or equipment manufactured or supplied by MMAL or to any items
excluded from the scope of the Initial Warranty.
POWERTRAIN WARRANTY
(10 years from purchase or 160,000km)
Provided that the current owner of the Vehicle is the Vehicle’s original retail purchaser, upon the expiry of the Extended Warranty
MMAL will extend the Extended Warranty in respect of only those components listed below (“Powertrain”) for the period
commencing upon expiry of the Extended Warranty and expiring 60 months (5 years) later, or until the Vehicle has been driven
a distance exceeding 160,000 kilometres in total (whichever occurs first) (“Powertrain Warranty”).
The Powertrain Warranty is not transferable by the Vehicle’s original purchaser to any other person. Any subsequent purchaser
may be eligible for the balance of the Initial Warranty and/or Extended Warranty as it applies to the Powertrain.
The Powertrain is the Vehicle’s (if and as applicable)’
Engine (including engine block, cylinder head and all internal components), intake and exhaust manifold(s), water pump, turbocharger, transmission or transaxle, engine and transmission mounts, four
wheel drive transfer case (including all internal components), propeller shaft(s), drive shafts and axle shafts, final drive assembly (including differential).
PERFORATION CORROSION WARRANTY
(5 years from purchase)
MMAL warrants that the original equipment sheet metal components of the Vehicle will be free from
holes formed as a result of the rusting of those components under conditions of normal use and service
within Australia during the period commencing on the date of the Vehicle’s original retail delivery or first
use (whichever occurs first) and expiring 60 months (5 years) later (“Perforation Corrosion Warranty”).
The Perforation Corrosion Warranty is subject to the proper care and maintenance of the Vehicle in
accordance with this Manual. |
